I have what is called a "gard" in Sweden. An old farmyard. The main house is a typical red swedish farm house. It is renovated, with an open fireplace, a big sunny deck, and a lovely sauna. Three bedrooms, plus a "hide a bed" in the living room. The property also has two very beautiful old stone houses, and an 800 square metre stone barn. The farm is at the narrowest point of the island, so is only 2-3 km from the sea in both directions. The sea is rocky, rugged and beautiful in both directions. It is a few kilometeres to two quaint fishing villages with nice restaurants, and 24 kms from Borgholm, and old and interesting town. There is an infinite number of historical, geographical, flora, fauna, restaurants, galleries, boutiques, and rocky beaches to visit. This is a special place with fantastic light for artists or photographers. Discover a real scandinavian paradise. 3 hours by car to Copenhagen and 5 to Stockholm. Other smaller airports are closer.

The island of Oland is a small special place off the east coast of Sweden. Home to artists, potters, fishermen, and campers. It is a piece of the Baltics that broke off many millenium ago, and drifted over to bump into Sweden. The island is rocky, rugged, windswept and beautiful. There are over 30 varieties of mini orchids in the spring, and hundreds of species of birds. The restaurants and galleries are fantastic. This island is busy and fun in the summer, but quiet the rest of the year. An almost infinite number of things to do, especially if you love nature. Pebble swimming beach 1 km away, and sandy beach a short drive away. It is also next to another island, Gotland, that is very wonderful, and accessible by ferry in the summer.
